We are pleased to announce that Helen Collins, Vice Principal (Academic) and Tutor in Practical Theology from Trinity College, Bristol will be the speaker at the 2025 Theology Matters Conference.

We are pleased to announce that Helen Collins, Vice Principal (Academic) and Tutor in Practical Theology from Trinity College, Bristol, will be joining us for this year’s conference to help us look at Charismatic Christianity: Introducing its Theology Through the Gifts of the Spirit.

Although many churches have either been influenced by the Charismatic Movement in worship and the practice of spiritual gifts, it has been hard to pin down a “theology” of the movement. Too often, churches have been more concerned about the experience, which is essential, to the neglect of solid biblical foundations. This can leave those who wish to go deeper feel rudderless, due to the lack of a solid theological basis.

Our hope is this will be of interest both to those who would consider themselves to be Charismatics, alongside those who, whilst sympathetic or interested, may not consider themselves to be such. This conference will help us be better rooted theologically, that our understanding and practice of spiritual gifts may be enhanced. We want to be doers of the word, not just hearers, with doctrine and life working together, hand in glove.
