Theology Matters
Are you eager to deepen your knowledge and understanding of God and His Word? If so, this course is for you.
Throughout the year, these once-a-month Saturday sessions will offer an opportunity to explore the scriptures and various topics in greater depth. The content is designed to be accessible to all.
You have the choice to either book for each month for the Saturdays you wish to attend or alternatively book in for all 9 modules by September 24th and only pay for 8.

The Classes
What Does it Mean to be Human?
Speaker(s): TBC
This session explores what it means to be human, our identity, and our state before God. The key doctrines of humanity will be covered, including how we relate to God and how we bear his image.
Who is Jesus?
Speaker(s): Mick Taylor, Dan Roach
Where did he come from? If Jesus is God, how can he be human? Jesus Christ is the centre of the Christian faith, and this session explores the key truths about the person of Jesus Christ (Christology) and the essence of his identity.
What did Jesus Do?
Speaker(s): Tom Clewer
Jesus was a man who walked around Israel and the surrounding country in the first century. But what did he do, and why is it significant for Christians today? In this session, Tom Clewer looks at the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, and how these events have made shockwaves in history, and in the lives of you and me today.
What Will Happen When the World Ends?
Speaker(s): John Hosier
In the future, Christians believe that this world will end, signalled by the second coming of Christ. What will this be like? How should we prepare? Does it make a difference to me? John will cover the basic beliefs about the end of the world, and explain its significance to Christians today.
Why Does the Church Matter?
Speaker(s): John Peel, Cassie Roberts
What is the Church? What roles does it play in the life of the Christian today? IN this session, John and Cassie will delve into the work and power of the Church in the world, the impact it can have on our surroundings, and our role in bringing justice to a fallen race.
Who is the Holy Spirit?
Speaker(s): Paul Stokes
The third person in the Trinity is sometimes less spoken about, but since the Holy Spirit is God, he plays an important role in our lives, our conversion and in the world at large. Paul will explain why the Holy Spirit should be worshipped as God, and how he works in and through us today.
What Should We Believe about Creation?
Speaker(s): Andrew Sampson
On this day, Andrew will take us through the key elements of the creation of the world, including the earth, land, sea, animals, and humans.
What is the Bible?
Speaker(s): Grant Van Schalkwyk, Jordan Round
The Bible is central to the Christian’s life, it is God’s revelation of himself to us. Grant and Jordan will cover the key elements of the Bible, its characteristics, its content, and its power.
What is Theology and Who is God?
Speaker(s): Andrew Larkin
Theology is the study of God. In this introductory session, Andrew will speak about ‘What is Theology’ and why it matters, and give an overview of the doctrines of God.
